Gracie #13 Chocolate Labrador Retriever Mix Female 8 Years Old ID #3253
Gracie came to us from a home in Maryland. She was 1 of 7 dogs. She went into foster care as her owner had a medical emergency. After a short stay with a foster, she was placed in a shelter. That is when Brookline stepped in to help this beautiful young lady. ❤️Please read the blog from the bottom up.

Gracie arrived Sunday night and was very timid. After a long day in the car, she slunk out of Deb’s car and started to look and sniff around. She immediately loved the tall grass/field next to us to explore. She wasn’t really a fan of our resident dog Bruno; he can be scary, though! He gave her space immediately and is being very patient. She hadn’t been eating in her previous foster and shelter with all the changes, but she is slowly figuring it out with us. She loves carrots and seems to be a fan of just dry kibble. She has some weight to lose, and after a trip to the vet for a manicure, we noted that she is already down 5 lbs since leaving home. 👍
She absolutely LOVES going for walks! We have been going to the park twice a day for long walks, and she never stops! She is a fast walker, surprisingly for her weight; it’s like she’s determined! At home she does follow me around most of the day. She is getting in extra steps all day long up and down the steps! She is a very good listener, sit, stay, come, and no Gracie! She goes to our back door or garage door already to go out; no accidents, thank goodness. She sleeps like a bear and has already claimed her spot in our room! She doesn’t get up on the couch, which is good, so we’re not encouraging it. I think she is still decompressing and is a little scared if someone new comes into the house. We want to slowly introduce her to lots of social situations and hope to bring her to the shore this weekend to check out the beach. She will make a fantastic addition to a family looking for some Lab Love
