🐾 KK Update! 🐾

We have some exciting news to share!  is officially down to 110 pounds! 🎉 She is making great progress on her weight loss journey, and we are so proud of her!

Even more exciting, KK will be attending Barktoberfest this Saturday! 🐶🍂 We are so excited for her to get out, meet new people, and show everyone what a sweet and special girl she is!

We can’t wait to see what adventures are next for KK! ❤️🐾

KK continues to amaze us with how much progress she is making! Every day, she becomes more comfortable, confident, and settled into her new routine. It has been so rewarding to watch her personality shine through as she learns that she is safe, loved, and cared for.

One of KK’s recent highlights was going on a walk with her dog friend, Bell! The walk went great, and Keia did such a wonderful job. It is so exciting to see her becoming more comfortable around other dogs and enjoying new experiences.

Another big milestone is how well Kk does when she is home alone! She has been an absolute angel. She doesn’t chew on things, get into anything she shouldn’t, or have any accidents while we are gone. She has even been able to stay alone overnight from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. without any problems! This is such a huge accomplishment and shows just how well she is adjusting to her new environment.

KK has also become quite the little communicator! She definitely knows how to get her point across, especially when it comes to her favorite snacks. If she wants a carrot, she will stand in front of the refrigerator and bark to let us know exactly what she wants! However, if we tell her no, she quickly moves on without making a fuss. She certainly has a funny little personality, and we love seeing more of it every day!

We are so proud of how far Keia has come in such a short amount of time. From becoming more social to showing how trustworthy and independent she can be, she continues to reach new milestones. She is proving to be such a sweet, well-behaved, and lovable girl.

We can’t wait to see what new adventures and accomplishments are ahead for our sweet KK🐶💕Keia

We got some really great news about Keia this week—her test results came back negative for Cushing’s syndrome! We are so relieved and happy for her. She does have a UTI, but she started antibiotics this morning, so hopefully she will be feeling even better very soon.

Keia continues to make such amazing progress and seems more comfortable with us every day. She has really grown to love everyone in the house, and it has been so sweet watching her personality come out more and more. She even climbed up onto the sofa! Seeing her feel comfortable enough to make herself at home was such a special little milestone. One thing we have definitely learned about Keia is that she LOVES her “snack snacks!” She is not afraid to let us know when she wants one, either. She will actually bark for her snack snacks, and one of her absolute favorites is carrots. She has figured out exactly where they come from and will stand right in front of the refrigerator and bark until someone gets her a carrot!

Between climbing onto the sofa, asking for carrots, and becoming more comfortable with everyone, Keia is really starting to show us more of her fun and lovable personality. We are so proud of how far she has come already and can’t wait to see what new milestones she reaches next! 🐾🥕❤️

It has been another exciting weekend with Keia, and we are continuing to see more and more of her personality come out as she gets comfortable with us!

We still don’t have the results back from Keia’s additional testing, so for now, we are patiently waiting and continuing to give her all the love and care she needs. No matter what the results tell us, we are ready to support her and make sure she is happy and comfortable.

One of the best parts of this weekend was seeing Keia start to play with toys! She has been slowly opening up since coming into our home, so seeing her interested in playing felt like another big milestone. It is so exciting to watch her become more comfortable and confident enough to have some fun.

She has also started enjoying chewing on her bones. It may seem like a small thing, but it has been really sweet seeing her relax and enjoy herself. Every little milestone like this shows us that she is beginning to feel more at home.Keia Labrador-Golden Retriever Mix Female 6 Years Old ID#3624We are still learning more about Keia every day, and it has been so rewarding watching her personality shine through. While we wait for her test results, we are focusing on all of the positive progress she is making. We are so proud of how far she has already come and can’t wait to see what she does next! 🐾❤️

September 25, 2026

This past week with Keia has been filled with so many little milestones that have shown us just how much progress she is making. As she continues settling into our home, we are starting to see more of her personality come out and watching her become increasingly comfortable with us and her new surroundings.

One of the biggest changes we have noticed is how much more settled Keia seems at home, especially overnight. She appears less anxious and is beginning to understand that this is a safe place where she can relax. She has also started exploring the yard more and becoming more curious about her surroundings. Watching her gain confidence, even through something as simple as wandering around the yard, has been really exciting for us.

Keia also had a new experience when we had guests over to watch football. New people can still make her a little nervous, and she will sometimes bark when someone unfamiliar comes around. However, she did so well with everyone visiting. We know that becoming comfortable around new people will take time, so we are proud of the progress she is already making. She also encountered another dog while we were out on a walk and did really well, which was another encouraging moment for us.

Another surprisingly exciting milestone happened with the car. Previously, Keia needed some help getting into it, but this week she climbed into the car completely by herself with no boost! It might seem like a small accomplishment, but for Keia it was a big sign of growing confidence and independence.Keia Labrador-Golden Retriever Mix Female 6 Years Old ID#3624This week also brought some important updates about Keia’s health. Her initial bloodwork and testing came back with some really good news: she does not have parasites or heartworm. However, her results also indicated that she likely has Cushing’s syndrome. Because of this, she needed additional testing so her veterinary team could learn more and determine the best plan for her. She handled her day of testing incredibly well, and we were so proud of her.

Although hearing that Keia may have Cushing’s was not the news we were hoping for, we are encouraged that the condition can often be managed with medication and veterinary care. We are willing and able to give Keia the extra care she may need throughout this journey. For now, we are taking everything one step at a time and working with her veterinary team to figure out what is best for her.

It has been really rewarding to look back at all the little things Keia has accomplished in just one week. From exploring the yard and becoming more comfortable at night to meeting new people, doing well around another dog, climbing into the car herself, and handling her testing like a champ, she continues to make progress.

Every little milestone matters for Keia, and we are so excited to continue watching her grow more comfortable, confident, and happy. We know there may be some challenges ahead, especially as we learn more about her health, but we are ready to support her every step of the way. ❤️

My family and I have officially had our foster dog, Keia, for four days! Even though it has only been a few days, I have already started to notice her becoming more comfortable and showing more of her personality.Keia Labrador-Golden Retriever Mix Female 6 Years Old ID#3624When Keia first came to us, she was a little unsure of her new surroundings. She seemed nervous and needed some time to adjust to a new home and new people. As the days have gone by, I have watched her slowly begin to warm up to us. She seems happier and more relaxed each day, and it has been really exciting to see her start to come out of her shell.

Keia has also started her weight-loss journey. We are helping her work toward becoming healthier and more active while making sure she gets plenty of love and encouragement along the way. I am excited to watch her progress and see how she changes as she continues her journey.Keia Labrador-Golden Retriever Mix Female 6 Years Old ID#3624My favorite part so far has been seeing Keia become more comfortable with my family. It is amazing how much of a difference I can already see after only four days. I can’t wait to continue watching her become happier, healthier, and more confident as she settles into her foster home! 🐾❤️
