Meet Lilly #12, a 100 lb Black beauty. Due to her own circumstances, Lilly was surrendered to Brookline so that she could find a new home. Please read the blog from bottom to top.

Lilly has been with us for a week, and she is a superstar!
It’s been a great week filled with lots of walks and swimming to help her drop the weight, and in true Lilly fashion, she nailed it…down 7 lbs.!
I cannot emphasize enough how much she loves her walks and swimming! Her tail wags the entire time, and she just loves it.
The other great news for Lilly is she met my granddaughters, ages three and one, and was perfect with them too! She was so gentle and non-reactive with anything they did.
Lilly has been great with anyone she meets and any dogs she encounters. She is unknown with cats.
She eats well, sleeps well, loves the car, and loves any love that comes her way. There has been no counter surfing and no begging. She seems to know some basic commands and does respond. She pulls a little on walks but responds to correction… I think she’s just so excited and loses checking her emails/social media accounts! I think she is a perfect girl!
Watch for the last call over the next week. We think she’s ready to find her forever home, as she has so much love to give.

We picked up Lilly in NJ on Thursday night. We anticipated her being shy and withdrawn based on her evaluation, but she has really surprised us! She is a happy, energetic girl who loves to meet people.
We have been walking her at least 2 miles/day as she needs to lose weight. Lilly is happy to swim in our pool, which hopefully helps the pounds melt away.
She seems very happy in the house and is comfortable finding a place to snooze during the day without needing to see one of us at all times. She sleeps through the night and is good with both meals now, although the first couple of days she wasn’t eating.
Tomorrow she will meet our granddaughters, ages 3 and 1.5, and we’re not anticipating any problems with that as she’s been so calm and gentle with everyone.
