Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653

Meet Lucky! This distinguished gentleman was surrendered to Brookline after his owner went into a nursing home and the family could not keep him.  He’s very friendly with all all ages of people as well as dogs.  Lucky loves jumping into the car but is a very full bodied boy so he will be on an exercise and diet plan while in foster care.  Please read Lucky’s blog from the bottom up to learn more about him.

Lucky is now available: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/lucky-a3dc232f-11a3-4eb1-afda-05c9f33938d2/pa/warrington/brookline-labrador-rescue-pa06/details/

Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653Lucky has been such a big love bug in our home. He went to the vet last week and weighed in at 140lbs. The good news is he is down from his last recorded weight. We have been continuing to watch his diet and keep him moving. We need to do some additional lab work on him this coming week. He had an elevated liver enzyme from his initial lab work. Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653We lost our senior lab Piper somewhat suddenly this week and he has been such a lover and knows we need a little extra kindness in our life. He has kept us moving which has been great when we all are grieving.Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653I look forward to sharing more news of him this coming week and planning to find his forever home!

Lucky has been with us almost a week now and we have so enjoyed getting to know his sweet personality. Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653He has so much love to give and gets excited but due to his current health state he has very low energy. We have been doing very short walks as he gets so winded. Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653We started him on a high fiber and weigh maintenance diet which he seems to be doing well. He loves carrots and green beans with his food. We are using carrots for treats as well. Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653We have caught him counter surfing a time or two but he corrected quickly. He has enjoyed our dogs and kids a lot. He could care less about any feline around. We have kept him in our bedroom when leaving and he has been a perfect gentlemen! Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653We look forward to knowing more about him while he is with us. He will have a full check next week at the vet. Lucky #14 Black Labrador Male 9 Years Old ID#3653We weighed him on a pet scale that belongs to my in laws and it registered 130 but not sure if we could fit him well on it.

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue. (Note: Sometimes a foster home falls in love and adopts their foster dog so the dog doesn’t make it to “Available Now”).
