Meet Luke, an owner surrender due to the failing health of his previous owners.

Luke, AKA Lukey to his friends, is doing very well in foster care. He has become a great family member and made friends with our resident dogs.
Lukey was severely overweight when he came into foster care but is now 15 lbs. lighter! He has come a long way in his weight loss journey.
Luke loves to be around people. Wherever we go in the house, there he is. He even waits at the bottom of the stairs when it is bedtime.
Luke loves his nightly walks, rolling around in the grass, and getting to know the people he meets. He is such an easy going dog, nothing bothers him.

Lukey is really just a cuddle bug that likes to be loved on!
Lukey will be a great companion that will love you always! He is great with other dogs, but we are not sure about cats.
Don’t let his age fool you! He has a lot of energy and playful spirit.

Lukey is a gentle giant. When we first got him, he was 116 lbs. Due to a better diet and fewer treats, he had lost about 10-15 lbs.! He is also much taller than our two resident dogs. Lukey is really just a cuddle bug that likes to be loved on!
Lukey just loves his nightly walks. He is pretty good on a leash now. He still will pull a little when excited, but he comes around with just a gentle tug. He will go on any vertical object we pass!
Lukey is house-trained and takes treats gently. He loves to meet new people on our walks or visitors. He will not jump up but likes to sniff and get a rub on his head.
Luke is great on stairs, and he cannot wait for us to go to bed so he can follow us up. Actually, he always likes to have his humans within eyeshot. Whenever he lays down, he lets out a little moan or two, but we all know how that feels when we are a little older!
Lukey will be a great companion that will love you always! He is great with other dogs, but we are not sure about cats. His only flaw or unusual behavior is he is seriously afraid of thunder and fireworks. When this occurs, he tries to get himself into the smallest space possible. He does have a thunder vest, but we are really not sure it helps him!
Don’t let his age fool you! He has a lot of energy and playful spirit.
