Midnight #7 Black Labrador Retriever Male 8 Years Old ID#3482
Meet Midnight! Midnight is a handsome boy who was surrendered back to Brookline after his original Brookline adopter passed away. Midnight originally came into Brookline’s care as farm dog surrender in 2022. He was adopted out but unfortunately needs to find a new forever home by no fault of his own when he lost the only family he knew. Midnight is back in a Brookline foster home. Please read his blog from the bottom up to learn more about him.

Hey everyone it’s Midnight! I wanted to check in and share a little bit from the last week. I’ve been hanging out with FM for just over 2 weeks and I’m still sticking to her like glue!
I’m eating well and going on lots of walks, FM says I’m getting better and better with my leash manners. Those times when I get cray cray because of the other dogs or the errant rabbit don’t count, right? I really like hanging out chewing on a toy in the backyard with FM. FM lit the fire pit the other night and it didn’t phase me, I had a chewy bone and FM and Delaney had hot cider – what a great evening!
Sunday morning we went to meet my foster brother Mars, he’s a horse. As usual, I loved the car ride! We got there and oh boy, all the smells! FM said we should walk around the non- horsey area so I could explore and get comfortable.
After a while we went around the corner of the barn (still about 75’ away) and I began my very own version of BARKTOBERFEST complete with something FM called an “alligator death roll” with a lot of slobber! What the heck are those things, will they eat us? No, hard NO!
FM took me back to a quiet area and we tried to regroup but it wasn’t happening. We sat down, had some water and sliced apples and talked, but nope, nope and nope. I got in the car and I was back to my happy self. FM drove me around parts of the farm so I could see from the safety of my comfy backseat. I didn’t get to meet Mars, but Delaney FaceTimed us from the paddock and it didn’t seem like he was going to eat Delaney, that’s a relief. Mars sent some of his apple slices to the car, thanks bro!
FM says next weekend we will try to go for a walk on the beach with my foster brother Maclean. We’ll keep you posted on our adventures!XOXO, love Midnight 🐕🦺🖤

Hi there, Midnight checking in. I’ve been with my foster family for just over a week! They tell me what a good boy I am and give me belly scratches! I’ve been busy with patrolling the neighborhood 3 times a day and perimeter sweeping the back yard.
Theresa sent me a great big welcome box with a blanket, lots of toys, treats and cool bandannas! I’m having so much fun with everything!
I still don’t like FM leaving for work, but she always says she’ll be back soon and she does. I have plenty of toys, a bed next to a window that I can see everything going on outside and some soft music. FM talks to me through the camera and that makes me happy!
FM took me to the vet this week where even more people told me I was a good boy and more belly scratches! A guy could get used to this! The vet said I am healthy and to keep working on getting me to a healthy weight. I’m eating well and happily going on walks.
FM and my foster brother Maclean took me to a place called the “reservoir “. I liked the woods and the trails and the people and the smells! What I didn’t like was the other dogs, it really agitated me, I growled for the first time (I don’t think anyone appreciated that). FM and Maclean kept me far enough off trail so that everyone could pass safely. The other dogs were non reactive but I think I just get scared. We found a nice trail where we were all by ourselves, it was awesome! I posed for some pictures and had a water break with Maclean. FM says that we will keep working on making me feel comfortable and confident.
Next week FM says we are going to visit Mars the horse. FM says there aren’t any dogs there but plenty of new things to see and smell. I saw deer the other day and wasn’t bothered. I wonder if horses are like deer, hmmm?
In the mean time, here are some new pictures, I’m very handsome! I know this because FM tells me at least 100 times a day!
Until later, love Midnight xoxo

Good afternoon.
Midnight checking in! I wanted to thank a really nice Brookline volunteer named Greg for driving me to meet my new foster Mom!
I was a good boy for the remainder of the trip home. FM took me right to the backyard so that I could potty and explore. I checked out the “bouncy ground” pool cover but will pass on that. I did fetch a tennis ball, you humans seem to appreciate the gesture.
I slept through my first 2 nights, no accidents in the house. I go to the patio door when I’m ready. FM knows I must have to go because she says I am a Velcro dog and that or meals would be the only time we separate!FM says I am chonky and need some exercise and healthy snacks. She put this “slow feeder” in my dish because she said I eat too fast. I tried cucumber and apple slices today, they were delicious, I told FM to keep the carrots!
Chonky, huh? I am walking on a front loop harness and remembering my leash walking skills, I was told I am a very good boy. I did see a dog way down the street and I let him know that he wasn’t welcome over here!
My foster sister Delaney drove home from college just meet me! I am her new buddy, we shared some apple slices and went for a walk. She was sad to go back to school, but I will face time with her later. I played with some toys here and there but I really love the xl nylabone FM got. It’s really cool how this guy with an Amazon shirt just shows up when FM says “Midnight, we need to get you a…..”
Anyway, I’m settling in and enjoying some nice naps and all the attention from FM. I’m told I have to see the vet this week, I’ll let you know how things go.
Until later, love Midnight xoxo
