Reba #3 Yellow Labrador Retriever Female 5 Months Old ID#3454

Yellow Labrador RetrieverMeet Reba!  Reba is an adorable yellow Labrador from Mississippi.  Reba and her 4 siblings came into Brookline through the help of one of our rescue volunteers who was notified that the pup’s owner was seeking good adoptive homes for the litter but had been unable to do so on their own.  Please read her blog from the bottom up to learn more about her while in foster care.

Boy what a difference a day makes!  I’ve been quite busy.

I’ve gotten past the leaf blower incident and have now been out and about for walks in the neighborhood again.  We did one last night and one this morning.  I did really good, foster mom only had to give me a few treats to entice me.

Today I had a wellness visit at the vet clinic, it was so exciting to see all the other dogs in the waiting area.  I just love other dogs.Yellow Labrador RetrieverWhile we were there, we made a trip through Tractor Supply, I did great with all the people and activity.  I only hesitated when a lady pushed her cart into the cart return and it startled me for a moment.

I’ll post another update soon, right now I need to give the computer back to foster mom so she can get back to work.

It is hard to believe I’ve been in foster care since Saturday morning.  Loving the indoor doggie lifestyle!  I’ve been doing great with learning all the new things that come with this indoor living situation.  I mastered steps on day one, no problem.   I have also checked “sit” off the list of things to learn, I am a smart girl and quickly realized good things happen when I sit.

I am doing great with potty training.  I go out every few hours or when I wake up from a nap.  I am sleeping straight through the night (8 hours) in my crate, no accidents or fussing at bedtime.  I love my toys and playing a good game of fetch, I bring it back so you can throw them again.

Puppy zoomies are the best, I love running from room to room and making my foster mom laugh as I wiz past her.

I have no problem eating my meals, I enjoy them a little too much actually, I tend to eat quickly.  Foster mom bought me a slow feeder/puzzle, that has certainly slowed me down and I am now enjoying the taste of my meals, who knew lamb and rice kibble tasted so good. Yellow Labrador RetrieverWe have gone on a few car rides, I do great, I’ve laid down and rested or sat up and looked out the window on our adventures.  On one of the car rides, we went to visit extended family, so much fun, I just love all people.

I had a little set back with walking, the neighbors leaf blower gave me a scare so I am a bit reluctant to venture to far from home for now.  I continue to enjoy exploring all the outdoor has to offer but prefer to be in and around my home for now. Yellow Labrador RetrieverFoster moms tells me what a good girl I am.  She says I am the perfect blend of puppy playfulness and snuggle bug.  While I play hard at times, I settle quickly and am content to lay near my people and just chill.  Foster mom works from home so today is day three of me being her office assistant.  Yellow Labrador RetrieverI do great at this role, happily play with my toys, chew my bone and nap.  Yesterday I got excited and made my presence known while she was on camera and talking.  I got a little crazy with my stuffed squeaky and made quite the ruckus.  I was a big hit, everyone on the call thought I was hilarious.

Reba’s doing wonderful and has settled into the foster routine.  She has slept quietly 8 hours each night in her crate. Reba spent 2 hours in her crate today while I ran some errands.

She is a great office assistant and lays quietly by my side, plays with her toys and naps.Yellow Labrador RetrieverReba has been enjoying several walks each day.  She is doing great with her leash walking but still tends to zig zag in front of you.Yellow Labrador RetrieverPotty training is going well, we go out every one-two hours during the day, she has only had one accident in the house since she arrived Saturday morning.

Reba enjoys retrieving her toys if you are willing to toss them.  She returns with gusto in case you want to toss it again.Yellow Labrador RetrieverReba settles quickly after a little exercise and is content to just be near her people.  Reba likes to give kisses and is always up for a good belly rub.Yellow Labrador Retriever

Welcome Reba, one of the five Labrador Retriever puppies who joined Brookline today.  Reba is a happy 5 month old puppy.  Reba rode nicely in the car with FM in the back seat with her.  After her rescue ride home we spent some time getting acclimated to a leash and harness.  She is one smart cookie!  Reba has already mastered the steps up and down from the back deck.

Yellow Labrador RetrieverReba was well behaved for her much needed bath!

Doing a little crate training so hopefully bedtime won’t be too much of a battle.  She has had a busy morning and is now down for a nap.Yellow Labrador Retriever Yellow Labrador RetrieverReba loves to give kisses and is very people oriented.Yellow Labrador RetrieverMore to come as we get to know this sweet girl.
