Sasha #5 Black Labrador Retriever Female 8 Years Old ID #3600

Hi Everyone,

Just a little update on our girl Sasha. She had her first vet visit on Friday, wow what a day, Sasha decided she wasn’t going unless her sister Josie went with her and they had to go out the door and to the car together. I don’t think Sasha has gotten into many cars because I had to give her a couple of boosts and at 96 pounds, she is a big girl. Once we got to the vet, Valerie and Mark met us there, thank goodness since neither one of the dogs wanted to get out of the car. We were able to get them into the office and both had settled down, Sasha into the examination room and Josie waiting with Mark in the lobby. Sasha weighed in at 96 pounds at which I personally think she had lost a few pounds in the 2 weeks that she has been with us. Whether she is chasing her sisters in the yard with toys or up and down the steps she is becoming more mobile and getting around better. We did find out that Sasha had a chip, which initially was told she did not have one. I think the appointment went well, she does need to lose about 15-20 pounds, with the other 2 blacks playing in the yard, eating a good balanced diet I think she will begin to shed a few more pounds.

Hi Everyone,

Sasha continues to amaze us on our daily routine how she follows the pack like she has been in our home forever. We have had no accidents since that 1st night. She follows her fur sisters wherever they go and wants to be involved in everything we do as a family. She is always walking around with one of the stuffies hanging out of her mouth and loves to get the other 2 into a game of stuffie tug of war. When we leave for work in the morning now, we must leave a little extra time for kisses, they follow me to the door and I give each one a kiss and tell them mommy will be home in a little bit. Then when I get home, they hear my car door, upon opening the door they are all sitting there waiting for my arrival and then come the greetings and the wet kisses, It’s like I was gone for days. I must say in the beginning it was a lot with 3 dogs, but each day it is getting easier because Sasha is such a sweet dog, just wants to please and loves everyone. Last night she curled up beside Jessie, our 2-year-old puppy, who is sometimes a little brat. They slept together so well all night long. A picture of Jessie and Sasha sleeping so well together, if you could only hear Sasha snoring, you would know how comfortable she feels.

Hi Everyone,Black Labrador Retriever

Sasha is doing very well. She has been sleeping through the night with no accidents and has finally decided sleeping on her bed is so much more comfortable than the floor. My grandson has been throwing the balls to all the dogs with them chasing each other. Sasha doesn’t realize how much exercise she is getting, the key to a perfect night’s sleep. She has really attached herself to my husband, they always say a dog has its person and Sasha surely does love him. She carries many stuffies around and loves a good bully stick. We have had no accidents in the house now for 2 days and she has really been good about going outside to do her business. We do have to separate all 3 when eating. She likes to run to other bowls and see what they’re having for dinner, little does she know they all eat the same. She is really getting comfortable and loves being inside with everyone.

She smells so good and feels so soft after her bath, she does better than my 2 dogs. She loved the scrubbing and rubbing on her body, never flinched, just sat there so good while we cleaned her.

A few pictures of her in the backyard with the other dogs. Learning the steps and laying with Josie on the tile and waiting for Mommy to get dinner ready.Black Labrador Retriever

Sasha is an 8-year-old beautiful black purebred English style Labrador Retriever and former farm dog. Even though she has never had any puppies, she is a full-figured girl who definitely needs to lose a few pounds.

On Friday afternoon, Valerie and Mark met the breeder at a park and were able to give Sasha her Rescue Ride to meet her foster parents at their home in Harrisburg. She has been adjusting well with my 2 dogs.Black Labrador Retriever She loves the attention from my 2 grandsons. They are working on sit and handshake with her of course for a treat. We had a restless night on Friday, not much sleep but we found her curled up on a dog bed with Josie my older lab in the early hours. There were a few overnight accidents. We are working on getting her outside as much as possible. She likes to chase my puppy around the yard while playing with toys. She is doing well on steps, and she is getting some much-needed exercise while having fun. She is very sweet and seems to love everyone she meets.

We will keep everyone updated on her progress as she acclimates from living in a pen to a house.
