Tucker #20 Yellow Labrador Retriever Male 4 Years Old ID #3655
Hi! My name is Tucker. I grew up on a farm in Lancaster County. I’m 4 years old. I just turned 4 a few weeks ago… So it’s not too late to send me a birthday present! 😁Please read the blog from the bottom up.

Hi Everybody!
Remember in my last update I said my FMs were chill?? Well… 🤪
In the last week, my FMs learned something new about me. I can jump really high! First, I jumped over the gate on the front porch. That was easy. The gate is not very high. I barely even had to try! Since I was out front, I figured I should check out the neighborhood a bit. FM must have thought that was a good idea, too, because she ran down the street right behind me! Aunt Julie was there to drop off auction stuff, and she joined in the fun, too!
The next day, we were out in the yard, and I saw our neighbor and her dog out. Being the friendly guy that I am, I decided to pop over and say hello. So, I “popped” over the 4-foot fence. My FMs were not as happy about it as I was!
FM1 started searching online for ways to keep a dog from jumping a fence. She read that a picket fence with interior horizontal rails gives a dog a “ladder” to climb. She got a great idea to put some of the extra fence panels on that section of fence, facing the other way, so the horizontal rails would not be accessible. She asked Aunt Margaret to come help FM2 implement this great plan. (I’ve learned that FM1 is the brains of the operation; FM2 is the brawn!) Yesterday, FM2 and Aunt Margaret spent hours measuring, cutting, and hammering sections of fence. When they were just about done, I went outside with FM1 to inspect their work. The neighbor and her dog came out, too. Our neighbor said, “Oh, what a good idea!” Before my FMs could pat themselves on the back, I hopped up… and over the double fence!
So yeah… My FMs aren’t feeling so chill anymore! 😁
I’ve also been jumping over gates in the house. FM1 put a chair on the other side of the gate so I couldn’t jump over. I figured I’d just go through it instead. That didn’t work out so well. I kind of got stuck. I thought it was okay because FM2 was standing right there. Surely her first thought would be to free my big, beautiful head from this contraption, right?? No, the first thing she did was call FM1 to bring a camera. Isn’t that against foster home rules or something?? Who can I report them to?
On a happier note, I got an awesome package in the mail. It was my very first package ever, and it was a good one!
Check out some live action!
That’s it for now!

Hi Everybody!
FM says this is a beautiful thing.
I’m much more relaxed at my foster home. No more pacing and panting… and no more humping! Now I can hang out with Lucy and Rubble, and everyone is chill, even my FMs!
Yesterday I went to see the vet. I was a good boy in the car because FM attached a doggie seatbelt to my harness. So, I happily hung out in the back seat… until I stepped on the seat belt clip and unhooked it! Boy, were my FMs surprised when I came crawling up front. 😂 I like car rides, especially if I can stick my nose out the window… and even more so if I can ride up front!
I had a great time at the vet’s office. I loved meeting all the people and getting pets and treats. The vet tech said I was a very brave boy when getting my blood drawn and getting my shots. Maybe even Lionhearted!! All my tests came back great—no heartworm or Lyme, no parasites, and almost all my bloodwork is normal. The doctor said my thyroid is a smidge low, and I should have that checked again in a few months. I got some allergy medicine because my paws are really red and I was chewing on them. Doc said I’m a really nice, good-looking dog and that someone will be very lucky to adopt me. And he’s really smart being a doctor and all.
My FMs noticed something about my ears that they thought was funny. When I’m excited, my ears go up and forward. When I’m relaxed, my ears flop down to the side. Check it out.
They think it makes me look like two different dogs. Is that funny? Or are my FMs just easily amused?!
I guess that’s all for now.
Smell ya later!

A few weeks ago, a nice lady from Brookline came out to meet me. She came back again last week and told me she was taking me to meet my new foster moms (FMs). I was so excited when I got in her van—I tried to jump up front, and I sang the whole way! I don’t think she appreciated my singing. She told my foster moms about it (but she called it “barking). My FMs decided to “divide and conquer.” One of them drove, and the other sat in the back seat with me. I loved having company! I sat in FM’s lap, put my head out the window, and enjoyed the ride with a song in my heart—but none coming out of my mouth.
When I got to my foster home, the first thing I did was sniff every inch of the yard! There were so many great smells. I could tell a lot of dogs have passed through here, so, of course, I had to leave my mark, too, so all the future dogs would know that Tucker was here.
There was a big hole in the middle of the yard, and some guys were there covering it with this big blue patch. I wonder if the last foster dog dug that hole??!! I walked right across the hole without hesitation. My FMs were surprised. They said most dogs get a little freaked out by the “bouncy ground.” But not me! They don’t call me Tucker the Lionhearted for nothing! Actually, they don’t call me that at all. But maybe they should!
I liked the squishy ground so much, I decided to take a “chew break” on it.
After checking out the yard, I got to meet the other three dogs here. Rubble and Lucy live here all the time. They were Brookline foster dogs like me at one time. But they both got adopted by my FMs. Murphy is visiting my FMs because his mom went away. I was very excited meeting the other dogs… a little bit too excited for their liking. FM says I was very stressed from all the changes, and my brain wasn’t working right. All I wanted to do was hump Lucy… and then Rubble… and then Lucy… you get the idea. FM said Lucy told me to knock it off many times, but I don’t remember that. FM says it was like I didn’t even hear her. That’s how they knew I was super stressed. That…and the fact that I panted non-stop the whole day. FM said I sounded like a train.

The other dog in that video is Murphy. For some reason, I wasn’t fixated on him like I was with Rubble and Lucy, so we got to hang out together and play. We are good buddies! I didn’t get to spend much time with Rubble and Lucy the first few days. Today is my third day in my foster home, and it’s the first day I could spend time in the same room as Lucy and Rubble. But only after I’ve had plenty of exercise. FM says I’m finally starting to relax.
I look pretty relaxed, don’t I?
I lived outside until coming to my foster home, but I have no fear of anything inside. I walked right through the doors and even followed the other dogs through the doggie door. I climb on furniture like it was made for me. Remember… Tucker the Lionhearted! I really think someone should call me that.
I’m really enjoying all the toys here. I like to play tug and chew on stuffies. I really like to tear them apart, too. FM says the bad part is that I eat what I tear off. So, I have to be closely monitored with toys. Psst… don’t tell anyone, but I like to chew on pillows, too. I might have chewed the corner off one of FM’s pillows. 😉
I like to chew on bones, too. But they have some crazy bones here… super slippery! Check this out.
Slippery Bone:
What’s up with that?? Huh??
Well, that’s the scoop from here! I’ll keep you posted on my adventures.
Love,
Tucker
