Paisley

We adopted our sweet Paisley from Brookline Lab Rescue this past January 2018. Her foster mom said that she had been passed over by many due to her need for daily ear medications and administration of allergy shots. She was also 7 years old and a large dog at almost 80 pounds. We lost our last rescue lab at age 12 last November, and I had been watching many lab rescue websites because we love the temperament of that breed so much, and wanted another large dog. I kept coming back to Paisley’s profile and seeing her sweet face. Our son is a Type 1 diabetic requiring daily insulin shots, so giving her allergy shots was no problem at all – I was good at giving shots! We applied online and were approved to meet Paisley. Her foster mom drove to her our home so she could do a home visit at the same time. We fell in love with Paisley immediately. She was so sweet and affectionate and submissive, and welcomed lots of pets and snuggles. We picked her up in PA a week later, and the adjustment period was almost nonexistent. Her foster mom had spent 9 months helping her regain her health after severe ear infections and testing for allergies that ended up requiring regular allergy shots. Paisley was so well cared for and was so very trusting. She had been surrendered twice before, by NO fault of her own. I cannot express how important it is to NOT overlook older dogs. At age 7, Paisley still has LOTS of energy and is very playful. She is polite, well behaved, and so very loving. She has been an absolutely perfect addition to our family. Thank you, Brookline <3
