Sparky was pulled from the farm on Monday! Sparky was kept in her pen and did not receive any exercise. Please follow Sparky’s journey by reading her blog from the bottom up.

January 12, 2026

Sparky had her spay surgery today. She did well and is now recovering. The vet said she was such a beautiful lab!

We are happy to update on some of her successes! She has been able to stay in a gated room for a few hours while we are away from the house. She just lays on her bed like such a good girl.

She is still sleeping in her crate at night without a sound. She has also been doing so much better on walks. She will still pull but she walks without leaping now!

We are still working with cars on our walks and when she is on a car ride. She barks and gets upset when cars are near her.

Sparky is loving her new lifestyle!

January 5, 2026

Sparky continues to make progress! She is learning our routines and definitely enjoying her new life!

She is doing wonderful with potty training. She only had two accidents since she has been here. The credit goes to our two labs! She stands at the back door with them when it’s time to go out!

She can also go up and down a flight of stairs. She is taking treats so much nicer now.

We are working on leash walking. Walking down our street is too much for her right now. We have been taking her out a few times a day in the fenced in area and we walk the perimeter with her. We found that when we walk with our dogs she just wants to jump and play with them and cars really scare her.

She is a real sweetheart that loves attention, toys and playtime!

December 31, 2025

Sparky was pulled from the farm on Monday! Sparky was kept in her pen and did not receive any exercise. She definitely has a lot of energy to burn off!

On Tuesday, we went for two walks and she played a lot out back in the yard with our two resident dogs. She was calmer throughout the day. She found out that a dog bed is so comfy and cozy!

She also is doing great in her crate. She took a few breaks during the day in the crate and slept both nights in there without a sound!

We are working on basic commands and leash walking. She did manage to snatch a bag of bagels from the counter. She is a sweet girl that just needs some love, attention and training. We are so happy to help this beautiful young girl!

Sparky’s bloodwork came back that she is positive for Lyme’s disease and worms. She is now on medication and hopefully will feel better in the next few weeks.
